Miss Melodee Studios Policies
NO Bargaining or Haggling
Miss Melodee Studios maintains a No-Bargaining Policy regarding its fees.  The prices listed for classes and boutique sales are final, barring any specials that the studio may run.

Annual Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee of $30 per student or $45 per family is charged annually at the time of registration, beginning on August 1st. There is no registration due for students who remain enrolled. All returning students receive 50% off registration fees within 1 year from withdrawal.  Students who return within a 3-month time frame in the same season will not need to re-register.

Class Tuition and Recital Payments
Registration: Our seasons run on an annual basis approximately from September through the end of August. Tuition is paid using a recurring credit card through MM Studios’ online registration system. The annual registration fee and the first month’s tuition are due at registration. All fees are non-refundable unless a class is canceled by MM Studios, in which case all remaining funds will be credited toward a new class or refunded. Students who join in the middle or end of the billing cycle will only be charged for the classes that still remain that month.  They will start the regular payment cycle at the beginning of the following month. Students must be registered and paid to reserve a space in a class. MM Studios classes are on-going from season to season. If you do not withdraw at the end of a season, it is assumed you wish to continue taking classes, and you will be charged accordingly.
Monthly Tuition Payments: MM Studios classes meet once per week and are billed on the first of each month at a rate of $20 per 45 & 50-minute class. Tuition is automatically charged to the credit/debit card on file on the 1st of every month once enrolled, until a withdrawal form is submitted. When discontinuing class, you must submit a withdrawal form by the 15th of the month prior to withdrawal.
NO EXCEPTIONS. There are no refunds or adjustments for absences and vacations, but make-up classes are allowed and encouraged. Tuition will be prorated for any class that falls on a holiday that the STUDIO is closed. For holiday closures please see the annual calendar at the front desk. Multi-class discounts apply against the base fee at $1 off per additional class, up to 4 classes.
Late Fees and Returned Checks: A $10 late fee is charged each week to any past due accounts, including accounts that cannot be processed due to inaccurate information or expired credit cards. A $30 fee is charged for a returned check.

Withdrawal: To withdraw from a class and stop recurring payments, submit a withdrawal form by the 15th of the month prior to withdrawal. Charges will cease for the following pay period. If notification is received after the 15th, the system will make one final charge on the 1st of the following month before cancellation. Upon withdrawal and re-entry into the same dance season, a re-entry registration fee may be assessed if outside of a 3-month time frame. All deposits, tuition, and fees are non-refundable. No credits. No refunds. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any Make-Ups will be lost upon withdrawal and deleted from the account. Miss Melodee Studios Classes are ongoing from season to season. If you do not withdraw at the end of a season, it is assumed you wish to continue taking classes and will be charged accordingly.
Recital Fee: MM Studios holds a formal recital at the beginning of summer each June. Most students perform in the recital, but it is optional. Recital costumes are ordered in December and January, so the recital fee is due by Sunday, January 10, 2016. Early sign up specials are available in October through December each year. The recital fee includes: one costume, one recital performance/participation, and a rehearsal at the theater. For each additional class a student is in, there will be a $50 costume fee only. Students who decide to participate in the recital after the January 10th deadline will be charged a $45 rush order recital fee only if the costume is still available.  Recital tickets cost $10 each in advance and $20 day of the performance at the door. Tickets are available for purchase in May.

Attendance/Make-Ups/Closures
Lateness and Absences: Students gain the most from class by arriving on time every week.  A ten-minute grace period is allowed for latecomers, however, please ask the front desk to take the student into the class so as to not disrupt the class. Due to lack of warm-up and class disturbance, no one may join a class in progress after the ten-minute grace period. If a student arrives later than the ten-minute grace period, ages 6 and above will be given a make-up instead of class that day, and ages 6 and below combo classes can enter during the half hour water break for the second half of class.  Excessive tardiness even within the ten-minute grace period will be tracked for our Level I dancers and up only, after five times, students will need to observe class and take notes on that day.  If only one student shows up for a class the teacher will provide a half-hour private lesson. If no students show up for class after 15 minutes, the class will be canceled for that day. If a student misses more than four classes without notice or explanation, MM Studios reserves the right to terminate the student to make room for others. Students with excessive absences after April will not be allowed to participate in the recital.
Make-Up Classes: Make-up classes are encouraged and may be made up in any age-appropriate class on the MM Studios schedule as long as the child’s registration remains active and the class has availability. Only one make-up is allowed per full class. Make-ups are non-transferrable to another student. All make-up classes must be scheduled in advance. Call or email the studio to schedule your make-up class. If you need to cancel a previously scheduled make-up class, you must do so 24 hours prior, otherwise it will be counted as used and deducted from your account. Make-Ups expire at the end of the season and/or upon Withdrawal / Suspension of your account. Seasons run September through the end of August annually.  MAKE-UPS are a COURTESY. We make no guarantee that a class will be available to you at your desired time.
Care of Students/Parent supervision: Students ten years and younger must have a parent or guardian present during class. Parents who leave the studio during class must provide a working cell phone number in case of an emergency, and their child must be potty trained to use the restroom on their own without adult supervision. Please notify the studio if someone else is picking up your child other than the person listed on the registration form, or, if you are carpooling.  Students are to remain in the building while waiting to be picked up. Please come into the studio to pick up your child.  Miss Melodee Studios is not responsible for providing before and after class care of students. After a ten-minute grace period a $10 late pickup fee is charged.
Children 10 years and under (both students and family members) must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of classes weekly. No-one is permitted to be dropped off, or left at the studio alone unless previously approved by an MM Studios manager.  NO EXCEPTIONS
RESTROOMS – Children Must Be Supervised By An Adult – 10yrs and under
Children 10 years and under (both students and family members) must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian when using the restroom at MM Studios.  If a child is found using the restroom unaccompanied by a parent or guardian, they will be excused and no longer permitted back into the studio.
NO EXCEPTIONS.

NON-DANCERS – Must Be Supervised By An Adult – 10yrs and under
Non-dancers (siblings / family members) under the age of 10 are permitted at the studio as long as they are accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.  They must be on their best behavior for the duration of their stay and should not disrupt dance classes, dancers preparing for class, the MM Studios staff, or parents viewing their dancers in class.  If any child is found to be unsupervised by an adult and/or disrupting the studio experience, they will be asked to leave and will not be permitted back in the studio.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
Sick Policy: MM Studios strives to provide a clean and sanitary studio for all families. Students who have been sick within 24 hours of class should use common sense when deciding whether to attend class.  If a dancer is suffering from an illness, they will not be allowed to attend class. If an MM Studios Staff member decides in their judgment that a child is too ill to attend class, the student will be asked to leave, and a make-up can be scheduled. (No Exceptions.)
Holiday Closures: MM Studios will notify clients via email and on the annual calendar (at the front desk) of all holiday closures. Monthly tuition will be adjusted ONLY for classes on days MM Studios is closed.
Unexpected Interruption of Classes: If MM Studios must cancel classes due to events beyond our control, such as weather, power outages, or acts of God, make-up classes will not be provided.
Substitutions: MM Studios reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach the classes. If a teacher is ill and the studio cannot arrange a substitute, any missed classes will be made-up.
Parents in the Classroom: Parents are invited to watch all classes from the hallway through our two-way windows. Parents are invited into the classroom for periodic in-class show and demonstration days. Parents are otherwise prohibited from entering the classroom, except for the Lil’ Demis 18mos – 2 and Lil’ Demis & Clicks 2’s – 3’s Transitional Classes. For these classes, one parent in allowed in the room per student.
Parent Participation (18mos – 2, 2’s – 3’s Transitional classes): Only one (1) parent or guardian per student is invited to participate in our parent participatory classes due to space limitation and fire code regulations.
Parents Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events: It is the responsibility of the parents to be aware of all studio activities, such as in-class show days, recitals, and closure dates. The studio will post such notices around the studio, through email, and the Miss Melodee Studios website. It is the responsibility of the parents to inform the studio of any address, phone number, or email changes.

Class Placement
Class Placement: Children age 4.5 and up must be the minimum age requirement by November 1st to sign up for a particular class. Placement for our Level 1 and up dancers is based on several factors including age, maturity, accomplishment, physical strength, commitment, and teacher recommendation. Only dancers in 3.5-4.5 age classes and younger may switch levels mid-year.
